Early bird tickets for National Forest Wood Fair

Date Posted: 13/12/2014

Discounted tickets are now available for the 2015 National Forest Wood Fair, giving visitors a third off the entry price.

Taking place on 31st August in Leicestershire’s Beacon Hill Country Park, this show is a celebration of the woodland.

Its line-up features everything from lumberjack displays and chainsaw carving displays to tree climbing events and greenwood craft demonstrations.

Groups who want to take younger family members with them can get their little ones involved in the likes of coracle paddling, eco art and hawk handling.

Visitors to the forest wood fair won’t go hungry either. The event will also host a Forest Food Festival, which will feature food and drink stands from local producers as well as a series of cookery demos.

Richard Drakeley, tourism development officer for the National Forest Company, said: “The National Forest Wood Fair attracts over one hundred exhibitors and demonstrators, and people return year after year to this very special event.

“There's always loads to see and do, but also time to talk to the exhibitors, ask them about their craft and find out more about all the things you can see and do in The National Forest.”
