Dulwich Picture Gallery reveals 2015 line-up

Date Posted: 28/01/2015

This London gallery’s 2015 programme features a unique ‘intervention’ project as well as major exhibitions.

The ‘intervention’ is titled Made in China: A Doug Fishbone Project and it’s been devised to challenge the public.

The project will see a key painting from the gallery’s collection removed from its frame and replaced by a replica in February.

The identity of this replica will be kept secret for three months, before the big reveal at the end of April.

In carrying out this deception, artist Doug Fishbone aims to explore the importance of original art versus the copy.

The gallery’s big summer, exhibition, meanwhile, will be Ravilious. Running between 1st April and 31st August, this event will showcase the work of watercolourist Eric Ravilious.

Plus, between 23rd June and 15th November, the gallery will host Prud’hon: Napoleon’s Draughtsman – the first major UK display devoted to Pierre-Paul Prud’hon.

Groups of ten or more can take advantage of gallery guides and lectures. For more information visit www.dulwichpicturegallery.org.uk/visit/group-visits.
