Dreamboats and Petticoats returns to London’s West End

Date Posted: 08/10/2012

The rock ‘n’ roll musical Dreamboats and Petticoats returns to the stage at the Wyndham Theatre on 16th October.

Its return coincides with the release of Universals’ Dreamboats and Petticoats sixth instalment of show-stopping tunes. The show runs until 19th January.

Produced by Bill Kenwright and Laurie Mansfield, audiences can sing along to many songs from music’s golden era.

Dreamboats and Petticoats is written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gram, the team behind Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds of a Feather, The New Statesmen and Shine On Harvey Moon.

Having played to more than two million people since its premiere in 2009, Dreamboats and Petticoats features some of the most popular rock songs from the era, and is a great opportunity for group travel organisers looking for a new theatre trip.

Set in 1961, the show follows two young musicians, Norman and Bobby, who are competing to win a national song writing contest - and more importantly, the attention of Sue.

However, emotions run high when Bobby discovers the talents of shy Laura, and love, rock ‘n’ roll and fame are soon beckoning to all of them.
