Discover the secrets of Castle Howard

Date Posted: 21/02/2015

Treat your group to a grand day out with a special talk or tour of one of Yorkshire’s most magnificent stately homes.

Castle Howard’s new selection of tours tailored for groups will give you a private guide to tell the stories and treasures of the 300 year old house and gardens, built by Sir John Vanbrugh.

Early morning tours give exclusive access to the house before its open to the public.

Garden tours, tailored to suit particular areas of interest, take in the 18th century walled garden with its collection of heritage roses, its vistas lined with statues, or the woodland garden with its impressive botanical collection.

Well known as the setting for Brideshead Revisited, outdoor guided tours of the castle reveal locations of some of the most iconic scenes from the television series and film.

Groups can also discover more on a curatorial tour to areas not usually open to the public, such as the Howard family Mausoleum, or book an after-hours talk.

Contact Castle Howard’s group reservation team on 01653-648621 or visit www.castlehoward.co.uk.
