Discover the beauty and rich history of Kurdistan, Iraq

Date Posted: 09/10/2012

Explore has launched new tours to the Kurdistan area of Iraq; reportedly the first major adventure travel company to enable groups to experience the beauty and rich - if sometimes turbulent - history of this undiscovered region.

Offering five departures from May to October next year, the eight-day Highlights of Kurdistan tour travels through the provinces of Erbil, Dohuk and Sulaymaniya.

Visiting the beautiful mosques, impressive citadels and traditional covered markets of the region, highlights include people-watching from chaikhanas (traditional tea houses) and a picnic with locals on their traditional Friday holiday.

Explore covers new destinations Kosovo and the Philippines

In addition to launching this new tour of Iraq, Explore has unveiled group holidays to Kosovo and the Philippines.

Spending five days in Kosovo as part of an Undiscovered Balkans tour, the 14-day itinerary takes in the unspoilt north of Albania and Macedonia, as well as dramatic mountains and lakes, pretty valleys and towns, and Kosovo’s rejuvenated wine region.

The Philippines Discovery tour begins in Manila, and comprises a visit to the UNESCO-listed colonial quarter of coastal Vigan and a hike to the crater lake of Mount Pinatubo volcano, with the chance to relax on Coco Beach on the island of Mindoro.

Highlights of Bangladesh

Owing to the popularity of Bangladesh on multi-country itineraries, it now features as a tour destination in its own right.

The 13-day Highlights of Bangladesh group holiday visits the Lawachhara Forest in search of the distinct Hoolock gibbon, alongside the chaotic cities, markets, tea plantations and rivers that the country is famous for.
