David Walliams musical now on tour

Date Posted: 27/06/2011

Mr Stink - a musical puppetry adaptation of the award-winning novel by David Walliams - has recently previewed at the Curve in Leicester, and is currently touring venues across the UK.

Promoted as the first ever scratch ‘n’ sniff theatre production, the story follows young Chloe, who doesn’t like school very much. She isn’t as cool as the other kids, but then she meets Mr Stink, the local tramp. Yes, he smells a bit, but he’s the only person who’s ever been nice to her, including her mother who wants to be the local MP, and is trying to rid the streets of its homeless. About to lose her only friend, Chloe finds Mr Stink a secret hiding place… but is there more to him than meets the nose?

The show will visit Southampton Mayflower (1st to 3rd September); Sheffield Lyceum (27th September to 1st October); Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells (7th and 8th October); Wolverhampton Grand Theatre (19th to the 23rd October); Norwich Theatre Royal (27th to 30th October); Southend Palace Theatre (2nd to 6th October); before concluding at Darlington Civic Theatre (8th to the 12th November). GTOs should contact their preferred venue for further information.
