Dandy Dick comedy embarks on UK tour

Date Posted: 02/04/2012

Arthur Wing Pinero comedy Dandy Dick will open at the Theatre Royal Brighton on the 3rd July, embarking on a UK tour before transferring to London’s West End.

Starring Patricia Hodge and Nicholas Le Prevost, the production will kick off the inaugural season of Theatre Royal Brighton Productions. Written in 1887, Dandy Dick is billed as the hilarious story of the Very Reverend Augustin Jedd, a pillar of Victorian respectability. Preaching regularly against the evils of horseracing and gambling, a visit from his tearaway sister leads him to risk all at the races - much against his better judgment.

Tour dates include Richmond Theatre (9th to 14th July); Aylesbury Waterside Theatre (16th to 21st July); The Churchill Theatre, Bromley (24th to 28th July); New Victoria Theatre, Woking (30th July to 4th August); Grand Opera House York (13th to 18th August); New Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham (20th to 25th August); and Manchester Opera House (27th August to 1st September). Group travel organisers will receive discounted rates for group bookings of ten plus.
