Cumbria museum’s new Roman Frontier

Date Posted: 22/02/2011

Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery, in Carlisle, will open a new history space this summer. The £1.2 million Roman Frontier gallery aims to showcase significant Roman collections, along with items on loan from the British Museum.

Due to open on the 25th June, a broad range of interpretative techniques will be employed, including mixed-media displays and experience-based interactive exhibits aimed at local, national and international visitors.

The Living Wall area will be a place where groups can engage with ideas and stories, participate in dialogue with other visitors and the museum, and develop an understanding from more contemporary examples about life on a Roman frontier.

Groups purchasing five tickets for an event at Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery will receive a sixth ticket free.
