Country life at Hever Castle

Date Posted: 20/05/2011

Hever Castle in Kent is set to host new rural event, Country Life at the Castle, from the 16th to 18th September.

Promoted as a celebration of country living, visiting groups will have the chance to see a host of craftspeople and producers demonstrating a variety of country crafts, from wood turning and carving to felt-making and aromatherapy. Spinners, weavers and dyers will be on hand to explain the process of producing textiles, and there will also be expert advice on hen and bee keeping.

The event will also incorporate the annual Hever Castle Patchwork and Quilting Exhibition, showcasing local talent with a display of more than 200 patchwork quilts and wall hangings. Throughout the course of the weekend, members of The Quilters Guild will present a full programme of demonstrations, and there will also be a selection of trade stalls.
