Counting down to The Battle of Bannockburn experience

Date Posted: 24/10/2012

The National Trust for Scotland has revealed plans for a new visitor centre, which will allow guests to experience the terrors and heroics of the 1314 Battle of Bannockburn in Scotland.

The centre boasts state of the art 3D technology which will enhance the attraction’s exclusivity when it launches in 2014.

Realistic battle scene experiences

Guests will be able to come face-to-face with life-like warriors, created through motion capture video (which created the likes of the character Gollum in The Lord of the Rings.)

This technology adds a touch of realism and promises a great attraction for group travellers to visit.

Group travel organisers can take their groups to witness full-on battle scenes which are an accurate representation of the historic event.

A new world-class visitor centre

The Battle of Bannockburn experience will be a world-class visitor centre, the design being inspired by traditional Scottish buildings to enhance visitor’s involvement with the attraction.

Pietro Cecchini, head of travel trade at National Trust for Scotland, said: “We envisage the new Battle of Bannockburn will be a key attraction for group and FIT Scotland programmes for 2014 and beyond.”
