Compagnie du Ponant’s new ship to sail the Arctic

Compagnie du Ponant’s new ship - Le Soléal - will cruise the Arctic in its augural season, starting in July 2013.

Taking group cruisers from the legendary North West Passage to the Bering Strait, Le Soléal’s Arctic cruise itineraries will give passengers the chance to explore hidden gems beyond the Arctic Circle; discovering Inuit villages and wildlife including polar bears, wolves, puffins and walrus.

Adventurous group travellers can also participate in hiking excursions and helicopter tours.

The newest addition to Compagnie du Ponant’s fleet, Le Soléal is set to become further embodiment of the luxury French cruise line’s ‘Yacht cruises’ concept, along with sister ships Le Boréal and L’Austral.

Boasting five-star accommodation, Le Soléal can carry up to 264 passengers.
