Heritage railway line, the West Somerset Railway, which runs between Bishops Lydeard and Minehead, has joined forces with a number of local attractions to offer combined packages for groups.

The train journey itself takes up to 90 minutes, passing through the Quantock Hills and along the Exmoor Coast. Those disembarking at Bishops Lydeard station can take a coach transfer to the restored gardens at Hestercombe House near Taunton. Groups disembarking at Dunster Station can explore the medieval village of Dunster, dominated by its historic castle. Discounted admission to the castle is available for those arriving via the West Somerset Railway, and group travel organisers can also arrange lunch at the three-star Yarn Market Hotel in the village - which opens especially for pre-booked parties at lunchtime.

Groups of up to 22 people also have the option to add-on an old style Mystery Tour around Exmoor. Met at Dunster Station by story-teller and singer Martyn Babb of Blue Motors of Exmoor; the package includes return train travel from Bishops Lydeard to Dunster plus the coach tour. A lunch stop at an Exmoor pub can also be included.
