Colourful offer from Exbury Gardens

Date Posted: 17/02/2011

To mark the tenth anniversary of its garden railway, Exbury Gardens is offering a free return visit for groups riding the railway between mid-March and early June.

This special offer is valid from the 19th March to 5th June, and return tickets should be used from the 1st September to 21st October. Return visits can be made as a group or individually.

Groups will have the chance to enjoy the spring colour of the New Forest attraction, returning in the autumn to enjoy its fiery hues. Railway enthusiasts can view a new exhibition in the railway shed, revealing the full story behind the construction of the site’s popular steam railway. Green-fingered groups can learn about the Rothschild family connections and their links with the famous plant hunters with new display boards.

Nicholas de Rothschild commented: “To celebrate the tenth anniversary of our steam railway and to make sure as many garden-lovers as possible enjoy the fantastic colour, we’d like to welcome the early visitors back in the late season, which is just as beautiful in its own way.”

Groups visiting Exbury Gardens in 2011 can look forward to a host of special events, from open-air theatre, family trails and art exhibitions, to the popular Ghost Trains and Santa Specials at Halloween and during December.
