Christmas joy with Severn Valley Railway

Date Posted: 17/09/2015

Severn Valley Railway’s fleet of resident steam locomotives will provide groups with a range of festive-themed services this December.

The Christmas Carol Trains, running on the 12th and 19th December, are perfect for groups who enjoy a sing-along. Visitors will be able to sing carols at stops at Bewdley and Arley before reaching the Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley in the evening for a carol concert led by the New Dimensional Experience Choir on 12th and the Kidderminster Male Choir on 19th.

On board Severn Valley Railway’s Christmas Dining Trains and Festive Season Luncheon Trains, groups can enjoy Christmas lunch or evening dinner whilst travelling through the countryside from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth and return.

Alternatively a Christmas Carvery Service, running from Kidderminster to the Engine House Visitor Centre, will be available, giving groups the chance to enjoy the exhibits on offer before tucking into lunch.

For groups with young children the countdown to Christmas can include a trip on the Santa Steam Specials services to visit Santa’s grotto at Arley station or the Santa Herald services, which will have Father Christmas on board handing out presents and taking photos on the journey to Highley.
