Date Posted: 30/08/2015

Young Chekhov: The Birth of a Genius is the forthcoming season of early Chekhov productions which will open at the Chichester Festival Theatre this autumn, running from 28th September to 14th November.

Adapted by award-winning playwright David Hare and directed by Jonathan Kent, the productions of Platonov, Ivanov and The Seagull (Chekov’s three earliest plays) will be performed by a cast of 23 actors playing 50 parts across all three shows.

The Seagull runs from 28th September, Ivanov runs from 1st October, and Platonov runs from 5th October. All three plays will finish on 14th November.

Each play can be seen as a single performance or they can be enjoyed as one event, either over different days or as one intense theatrical experience on trilogy days.
