It has been announced that Chicago, the world’s longest American musical, will return to London in March next year.
The show will be returning to the West End, after a five and a half year absence, on 26th March at the Phoenix Theatre and tickets will be available from 20th December. Group organisers can call the box office on: 0844 871 7629 for information on ticket prices for groups.

Synopsis: Chicago
Chicago is based on the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins. Set in Chicago, the show follows the story of two rival performers, both murderesses, locked in the same jail. The show will feature popular songs such as All That Jazz, Roxie, Cell Block Tango and Nowadays.
Casting for Chicago at the Phoenix Theatre is to be announced.
Producer, Barry Weissler, said: “This year we celebrated the production’s 21st Anniversary and had our most successful year to date. Chicago is as relevant and timely as the day we opened. After spending the last several years touring throughout the UK it feels like we never really left, but we are thrilled to bring the Razzle Dazzle back to the West End.”

Chicago originally ran in London for 15 years, making it the West End’s longest running revival. It first opened at the Adelphi Theatre in 1997 to rave reviews and immediately became a sell-out hit. It then won the 1998 Laurence Olivier Award for ‘Outstanding Musical Production’ as well as the 1998 Critics Circle Drama Award for ‘Best Musical’.
The musical transferred from the Adelphi Theatre to the Cambridge Theatre in April 2006, where it ran for five years until 27 August 2011. The show then opened at the Garrick Theatre on 7 November 2011, where it ran until 1 September 2012.
Since it opened in New York in 1996, the musical has played in 36 countries worldwide and continues to play on Broadway, where it recently celebrated its 21st birthday.

The award-winning musical by Jethro Compton and Darren Clark will transfer to the West End following a sold-out run at Southwark Playhouse.
Rehearsals are underway for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Starlight Express, with full casting announced for the new production that returns in the summer.
Group travel organisers and coach tour operators can now book tickets for performances of Wicked the musical until December 2025.
The booking period has extended for the trailblazing show that continues to wow audiences at its purpose-built arena in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
