Joe Swift to feature at Group Leisure & Travel Show 2015

Date Posted: 29/06/2015

One of Britain’s best loved gardeners and TV presenters, Joe Swift, will be attending the Group Leisure & Travel Show at the NEC on 22nd October as part of a fantastic line up of seminars and Q&A sessions, which are free to visitors attending Britain’s biggest group travel event.

Exhibition sales manager Sharon Yandell said: “We are absolutely delighted that Joe has agreed to work with us as part of our 2015 seminar programme. Groups and gardens just go together and I am sure our visitors will be as thrilled as we are about this news.”

The full seminar programme will be announced shortly and will feature in the August edition of Group Leisure, but Sharon has also revealed that she is hoping to confirm another celebrity soon from the world of travel and television who she hopes will attend both the show and the Group Leisure Awards dinner, which takes place the evening before GLTS at the nearby Hilton Birmingham Metropole. “Fingers crossed,” said Sharon.

Joe has been gardening since he left school and is a fully-trained garden designer. He has been one of the main presenters on BBC2’s flagship gardening show Gardeners’ World since 1998 and also regularly appears in the BBC’s coverage of RHS Chelsea, Hampton Court, Gardeners’ World Live and Tatton Park flower shows. Over the years Joe has fronted Open Gardens, Small Town Gardens, Garden Makers and Garden Invaders. He appeared on Celebrity Masterchef and many other programmes as a guest.

Joe is the president of the National Gardens Scheme and has designed many gardens for TV, including one for Comic Relief, many for Gardeners’ World and all of Alan Titchmarsh’s How to be a Gardener 2 series. He is also a co-founder of Modular Garden - a garden design and build brand. Joe’s writing includes a regular column in The Times’ Weekend section, Gardeners World magazine and various other magazine articles.

Sharon Yandell told us: “It’s been a great month for the GLTS with a host of exhibitors confirming stands such as Virgin Trains, Tourism South East, the GTOA, Robinson’s Holidays, Mersey Travel, The Quays, Durham Cathedral, Daish’s Holidays and many more. Hearing that Joe has agreed to work with us was the icing on the cake.”

Registration to visit the show free on 22nd October is available online at www.leisureshow.com/register. Companies and organisations who would like exhibiting or sponsorship information should contact Sharon on 01908 613323 or e-mail sharon.y@yandellmedia.com.
