Celebrity chefs join food and wine cruise

Saga Cruises has revealed that chefs Jean-Christophe Novelli (pictured) and Phil Vickery will be on board two food and wine-themed cruises sharing their cookery secrets.

In October, multi-Michelin Star chef Novelli will offer expert cookery demonstrations and take part in a Q&A session during Saga Pearl II’s Flavours of France and Spain cruise.

The cruise will also include two days in Bordeaux to allow time to tour the vineyards. One option is the Medoc wine route, between the Gironde estuary and Landes forest, which offers views of the vineyards such as Lafite Rothschild and Pichon Longueville.

Guests can also discover the town of Saint Emilion and visit a chateau where wine-making techniques will be explained during a tasting session.

TV chef Phil Vickery will be headlining Saga Sapphire’s food-themed Adriatic Explorer cruise in May. You can expect three cookery demonstrations and it includes a visit to Leixoes (for Oporto), in Portugal.
