A weekend of celebrations on the 4th and 5th June will mark the opening of Stirling Castle’s Renaissance royal palace following a £12 million refurbishment.

Stirling Castle Presents - a Palace Fit for a Queen will be a ticketed event, offering visiting groups the chance to be amongst the first to explore the refurbished palace interiors, which have been decorated in the style of the 1540s. There will also be a host of entertainment, with costumed performers, displays, Renaissance cooking and medieval games, as well as the opportunity to view the original Stirling Heads - referred to as Scotland’s other crown jewels because of their superb craftsmanship.

Groups wishing to attend the opening celebrations are advised to purchase tickets in advance. Those planning a visit to the castle following the opening of the Renaissance royal palace, can take advantage of a host of talks and tours.
