The Birthday Party

It’s been revealed that Pearl Mackie will join Toby Jones, Stephen Mangan and Zoë Wanamaker in a revival of Harold Pinter’s The Birthday Party.

The production will run at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London from 9th January until 14th April 2018. The official opening night will be 18th January.

Synopsis: The Birthday Party

The story follows Stanley Webber who is the only lodger at Meg and Petey Boles’ seaside boarding house. The arrival of strangers Goldberg and McCann disrupts the lives of the inhabitants and their friend Lulu and mundanity becomes menace when an innocent birthday party turns into a nightmare. Truth and alliances hastily shift in Pinter’s mysterious dark-comic masterpiece about the absurd terrors of the everyday.

Toby Jones will be playing Stanley Webber, Zoë Wanamaker will star as Meg, Stephen Mangan will play the role of Goldberg and Pearl Mackie will star as Lulu.

Zoe Wannamaker’s previous credits include Girlfriends, Inside No. 9, Babs, Britannia, Mr Selfridge, Poirot, and My Family. Her film credits include My Week With Marilyn, It’s a Wonderful Afterlife, Five Children and It, and Harry Potter.
