Broadway’s Jekyll and Hyde tour the UK

Date Posted: 09/12/2010

Broadway musical Jekyll and Hyde will embark on a major UK tour in 2011.

Starring singer and songwriter, Marti Pellow, Jekyll and Hyde is based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic gothic novella, about an obsessive scientist whose sadistic alter ego wrecks havoc across Victorian London.

Promoted as a dark tale of love, redemption and the seductive power of evil, the production was written by Frank Wildhorn, with book and lyrics by Academy Award-winning composer Leslie Bricusse.

Former front man of award-winning band Wet Wet Wet, Marti Pellow returns to the stage following previous roles on Broadway and in the West End, in addition to the national tours of Chicago and The Witches of Eastwick.

The tour kicks off in Bromley on the 20th January, before visiting venues nationwide including: Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre (28th March to 2nd April); Bradford’s Alhambra Theatre (11th to 16th April); Bristol Hippodrome (3rd to 14th May); Regent Theatre, Stoke-on-Trent (23rd to 28th May); Theatre Royal Norwich (6th to 11th June); Edinburgh’s Playhouse Theatre (20th to 25th June); Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff (4th to 9th July); New Victoria Woking Theatre (11th to 16th July); finishing at the Grand Theatre, Leeds on the 30th July.
