Bristol unveils its festive offering

Date Posted: 15/05/2012

Bristol is keen to promote its festive offering to those organising a group trip over the Christmas season, with highlights including the return of its Christmas markets, and a skating rink.

The unveiling of the markets will coincide with the Christmas lights switch-on event on the 9th November. Located on the pedestrianised streets of the city centre shopping area, there will be a German-themed market, and local market boasting gift ideas and locally-produced food.

The German-themed Christmas market will feature wooden chalet-style stalls offering gift ideas, homemade crafts, and festive eats such as gluhwein, bratwurst, waffles, crepes, and apple rings. Visiting groups can also enjoy the authentic Bavarian beer garden.

Set amongst the markets, a skating rink is set to transform The Podium in the centre of Broadmead into a winter wonderland. This will be open from 9th November until early January.

Group travel organisers pencilling in a trip to the Christmas markets can take advantage of Bristol’s free coach parking, located adjacent to the city’s shopping area.
