Bridge and ski holiday: the first of its kind

Date Posted: 13/03/2015

A brand new holiday combining bridge and skiing will be available from 2016, in the surroundings of the Julian Alps in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia.

Arena Travel has organised the skiing holiday to incorporate friendly and relaxed evening bridge sessions under the direction of English Bridge Union (EBU) qualified bridge teachers and keen skiers, June Booty and Derk Taplin.

The sessions will take place after a day on the slopes, which rise to an altitude 1,570 metres and offer a good choice of runs for skiers of all abilities. There are 15 gentle blue runs, five red runs and three black runs, including the one used for the FIS World Cup races.

The holiday, from 23rd January to 30th January 2016,  is priced from £779 per person for seven nights half board accommodation based on a twin share at the four star Ramada Hotel & Suites, which is located in the heart of the village of Kranjska Gora; just a short walk from the lifts and ski area.

The hotel has a bar, pizzeria and coffee house and the resort offers additional amenities, bars and cafes and a casino. In addition, guests of Arena Travel will be given free entrance to the World of Water at Hotel Spik as well as use of a swimming pool at the nearby Ramada Resort, where there are Turkish baths and massages available.

Bookings of 12 or more can receive a £50 discount per person.
