Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway launches 2011 season

The Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway has launched its 2011 season this month, and is currently promoting its range of group offers and incentives, in addition to its programme of special events throughout the year.

Running four trains each day on weekends until the end of October, with midweek dates in April, June, July and August, special events include Days out with Thomas (5th to 7th August, 24 and 25th September); Steam ‘n’ Scream Weekend (29th and 30th October); Santa Steam Specials (26th November to 18th December); and Hogmanay ‘Black Bun’ Specials (30th and 31st December).

Rail enthusiasts can also take advantage of the new opening times for the Scottish Railway Exhibition. Based at the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway and promoted as the largest railway museum in Scotland, it will now be open seven days a week until the 2nd October. New exhibits include the Gordon Highlander and the Duke of Sutherland`s Saloon. Also due to go on display is the Midland Railway Compound number 1000.
