A brasserie style restaurant at Blenheim Palace will open on 13th February that will give groups the options of brunch, afternoon tea and an a la carte menu.
The Orangery Restaurant will be operated by Searcys, the oldest catering company in the UK, which currently runs a restaurant in The Gherkin and St Pancras Grand.
Elevenses
Brunch was made famous in New York so to make it more appropriate to the quintessentially British surroundings of Blenheim Palace the meal has been re-named ‘Elevenses’.
Despite the more traditional British title used, however, the American favourite, bacon on pancakes with maple syrup, will form part of the menu, as will eggs Benedict, and eggs Florentine.
Whatever the choice, it will be able to be enjoyed with a glass of Bucks Fizz or Champagne.
Lunch
Groups will be able to take in the view of the Italian gardens whilst enjoying lunch at The Orangery Restaurant. Featuring local and estate produce, the menu will change quarterly to incorporate the seasonality of ingredients available.
It will look to the changing calendar of meat, game, fish, woodland hedgerow, fruit and vegetables to ensure groups are offered the best of what is available from the British larder.
The lunch menu will be served between noon and 3pm, but for groups with plenty of exploring around the grounds of Blenheim Palace still to do, there will be an Express Menu, which offers sample treats from the menu that can be served quickly.
Afternoon Tea
Served between midday and 5.30pm, afternoon tea at Blenheim Palace will bring a mixture of sandwiches, baked scones and pastries to the Orangery. It will be served in the time-honoured way on a tiered stand.
Groups can choose between three afternoon experiences, from the everyday treat to a Champagne tasting trio.
