Coinciding with the opening of its 2012 season, Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire is to host its first art exhibition - a display of work by renowned 20th century British artist John Piper, set to run from the 11th February to 9th April.

Largely focusing on Piper’s depictions of Blenheim Palace, the exhibition will also explore his Oxfordshire connections, plus his writing, architectural drawings and paintings. Best known for his love of English architecture and the countryside, the exhibition will feature a series of 11 watercolours, including a number of iconic images of the palace.

A number of supporting events and activities will run alongside the exhibition, including a print workshop and tour on the 1st March; A talk on John Piper by Frances Spalding on the 17th March; and A talk on the Shell Guides, John Piper and John Betjeman by David Heathcote on the 31st March.

Group travel organisers planning a visit to Blenheim Palace can take advantage of a range of themed tours for groups.
