Avalon Waterways’s Mekong river cruise ship

Date Posted: 03/11/2011

Luxury river cruise line Avalon Waterways has announced the delivery of its new Mekong river cruise ship, the Avalon Angkor, in 2012.

The Avalon Angkor has been designed to be the first ship in the industry to cruise all the way from Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap, enabling travelling groups to avoid the seven-hour coach journey.

The first Avalon vessel to be launched outside of Europe, the ship has been built by local craftsmen with a colonial design. Able to accommodate 32 passengers in 16 staterooms over two decks, floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors provide an open-air experience in addition to the sun deck.

Avalon Waterways offers a variety of river cruises and tours of Vietnam, Cambodia and China, with confirmed departure dates available from April to March 2013. Highlights include the new 16-day Fascinating Vietnam, Cambodia & the Mekong tour, which includes a seven-night cruise onboard the Avalon Angkor; the 12-day Magical China & the Yangtze River tour; and the 17-day Heart of China & the Yangtze River.

Further details can be found in Avalon Waterways’s dedicated Vietnam, Cambodia & China brochure, to be released on the 24th November.
