Arts by the Sea Festival 2015

Date Posted: 14/02/2015

The ten-day festival, held across Bournemouth, will return this October for its fifth year celebrating the visual arts, music and dance.

Bournemouth’s annual arts festival will return with a renewed focus on the visual arts and local artists.

The event will merge a diverse range of dance, music, poetry, cinema, theatre, art and literature-themed performances.

Highlights will include Drift, a music and spoken word performance by internationally acclaimed writer Caroline Bergvall and Vera Chytilová’s classic of surrealist Czech cinema, Daisies.

Also featured is the documentary Watermark and a Vintage Mobile Cinema, while the flame alchemists Compagnie Carabosse will transform Bournemouth Lower Gardens into a fiery landscape in their Fire Gardens display.

The Fuel Theatre Company will also present two unique performances. Fiction will challenge its audience’s perception and senses by employing binaural sound and absolute darkness.

The Roof, meanwhile, will combine sound, dance and free running in a 360 degree panoramic night-time performance.

The festival will run between 9th and 18th October, at varying venues and locations across the city, including the town centre, gardens and sea front.
