Aldeburgh Music celebrates Britten’s centenary

The centenary of local-born composer Benjamin Britten will be marked by a series of special events held by Suffolk’s Aldeburgh Music Hall.

Culminating in the 100th anniversary of his birth on the 22nd November 2013, Aldeburgh Music’s group-friendly performance programme comprises:

•    A Ceremony of Carols – 7th and 8th December
•    In Britten’s Footsteps – 1st to 3rd February
•    Easter Weekend: Britten & Purcell – 29th to 31st March
•    The Canticles – 10th to 12th May
•    Aldeburgh Festival – 7th to 23rd June
•    Snape Proms – 7th to 11th August
•    Centenary Weekend – 22nd to 24th November 2013

Group tours

Group travel organisers could combine their performance tickets with a tour of the venue. Backstage tours of Snape Maltings Concert Hall and the new Hoffmann Building, looking at the history of the Maltings from malthouse to concert hall, can be arranged for parties of between 12 and 40 people.
