Alan Titchmarsh to open Bishop’s Palace Garden Festival

Date Posted: 04/02/2015

TV gardener and presenter Alan will cut the ribbon on the medieval palace’s celebration of all things outdoors this June.

The Garden Festival will run at the Bishop’s Palace and Gardens in Wells, Somerset from 20th to 25th June, and Mr Titchmarsh will officially open the festival on its first day.

Alan will also plant a tree in the gardens to replace the 19th century ‘Tree of Heaven’ which blew down in an autumn storm in 2013.

The festival will have daily talks and tours, workshops and demos, a market place, top garden suppliers, rare plants and family fun.

On Sunday 21st, the festival will be ‘family-friendly’ with games and events for all ages, including an outdoor theatre performance of The Secret Garden by Chapterhouse Theatre Company.

Tickets for the event will go on sale on 2nd March.
