3D tennis film captures Centre Court action

Date Posted: 04/09/2012

This October, tennis fans will be able to experience a new state-of-the-art 3D film by Sony entitled Viewpoint, on show at Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum.

Viewpoint was produced during this year’s tournament, and is orientated around the men’s singles final.

About the film

The film opens on Centre Court during the final game of the tournament. The audience is then taken from the central action to narratives from ball boys and girls, grounds-men and fans.

Weaving characters’ stories together to build a picture of what goes on behind-the-scenes, the film introduces the audience to the often hidden heroes of The Championships.

Tennis memorabilia – including an acquisition from Andy Murray

In addition to seeing the new film, group travel organisers can see a plethora of tennis memorabilia at the museum, including the outfit that Andy Murray wore during his victory over Roger Federer, in the men’s singles final at London 2012.

The kit, compromising the official Team GB t-shirt and shorts designed by Stella McCartney, will be on display alongside contributions from both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, who have loaned their gold medals from the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
