Southern Wales Tourism has unveiled details for a host of 2012 events for groups to look forward to.

Spring highlights include the RHS Flower Show at Bute Park from the 20th to 22nd April, providing an inspirational display of floral delights plus expert advice for gardening groups; and the Celtic Festival of Wales in Porthcawl taking place from the 4th to 6th March. This popular annual event features the colourful Parade of the Celts, as singers, dancers and musicians descend on the seaside town of Porthcawl for a weekend of festivities.

Then later in the year, the Abergavenny Food Festival returns, hosted in six venues throughout the town. Running from the 15th to 16th September, group members can tantalise their taste buds with local food and drink produce; plus there’s over 80 individual events and demonstrations, with 200 stalls lining the historic streets.

Also in September is the Porthcawl Elvis Festival. Running from the 28th to 30th September, the town will be awash with Elvis impersonators and fans, with bars, restaurants and hotels all paying tribute to The King. The event culminates at the Grand Pavilion with the annual Elvies awards and the crowning of the festival’s best Elvis tribute act.

Groups visiting Southern Wales throughout 2012 should visit the website for further information and a host of event highlights.
