1984 returns to West End

Date Posted: 29/04/2015

An adaptation of George’s Orwell’s classic novel 1984 will launch at the Playhouse Theatre this summer.

From 12th June to 5th September, the Playhouse Theatre in London's West End will host a stage version of 1984 before it embarks on an international tour.

A chilling story of a dystopian future, 1984 follows Winston Smith and his struggle to exist outside of the omnipresent surveillance of the authoritarian government Big Brother.

Created by The Headlong, Nottingham Playhouse and Almeida Theatre, this production of the play was previously staged at the Playhouse in 2013 and 2014.

The cast is yet to be announced, but tickets are now on sale, with groups having the opportunity to book eight or more seats for Monday to Thursday performances.

There will be 101 seats for every performance of the 1984 play.
