1,000 Years of Traditional Crafts

Date Posted: 13/10/2011

Following the success of this year’s launch event, Lincoln’s heritage crafts festival ‘1,000 Years of Traditional Crafts’ will be hosted once again in 2012, taking place over the weekend of the 29th and 30th September.

Visiting groups can look forward to a host of hands-on activities, displays and crafts people at work, in addition to Tastes of Lincolnshire food stalls and demonstrations around the city’s Castle Square.

The event will also herald the completion of the city’s new Heritage Skills Centre, to be built over the next year in the grounds of Lincoln Castle. The centre will not only provide training workshops for new recruits to learn bygone trades, but will enable visiting groups to view the craftsmen at work.
