Date Posted: 19/04/2015

A collection of works by William Morris and Andy Warhol will feature in a major exhibition at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery this summer.

From 25th April until 6th September, the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery will house the Love is Enough exhibition which will include works by some of the past centuries’ top modern artists.

The display will include drawings and screen-prints by Andy Warhol and original drawings, textiles, books and stained glass made by William Morris and Co.

Additionally, the display will feature Dante Gabriel Rossetti’s La Donna Della Finestra, his incomplete portrait believed to have been based on the likeness of Jane Morris. It will be positioned alongside Warhol’s portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Joan Collins and Liz Taylor.

The centre-piece of the exhibition will be Morris & Co’s Holy Grail Tapestries, a series of tapestries which convey the Arthurian Knights’ quest for the Holy Grail.
