See and experience nature in an inspirational way on your next group trip with Wilderness Discovery.

Based in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean, Wilderness Discovery has provided a range of audiences with inspirational experiences of nature for the purpose of entertainment and enjoyment.

From foraging and tracking to bushcraft, a Wilderness Discovery experience day will offer your group a greater awareness, understanding and enjoyment of the natural world.

Skills ‘for life’

Nature awareness, self-awareness, and practical skills training are all comprised in a Wilderness Discovery experience.

Depending on the length of your group trip, these ‘for life’ experiences can range from a two and a half hour visit to a 24-hour overnight excursion.

Specialist days include:

A Foraging day - Guided by ‘The Hedge Chef’ learn to safely identify and introduce a whole range of wonderful wild food ingredients to your cooking.

A Tracking day - Gain insight into the hidden life in the forest and the ways of increasing your opportunities to see and enjoy wildlife.

A Bushcraft day - Learn a range of essential practical skills through which you can experience greater freedom, safety and awareness in the outdoors.

Bespoke experiences for special-interest groups

If you’re arranging group travel for special-interest groups, Wilderness Discovery can offer a range of bespoke experiences and activities.

Whether its introducing artists or photography groups to the hidden historical and natural treasures of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean area; or organising falconry handling and Canadian canoeing trips, group travel organisers can put together a unique group itinerary.

The Wye Valley and Forest Experience

Suitable for groups of between six and 20 people, the 24-hour Wye Valley and Forest Experience is particularly popular.

This group experience comprises inspirational nature-based activities, with overnight accommodation at the Marriot St Pierre hotel including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Highlights of the trip include a Wye river crossing by hand drawn ferry and the chance to see the most famous viewpoints of the Wye valley which have inspired writers, poets and artists for centuries.
