With new flight options from the UK, and the opening of a number of attractions and exhibitions - including what is said to be Europe's largest aquarium - it’s never been a better time to plan a group holiday to Denmark.

Other watery highlights include a new Maritime Museum in Elsinore, and a major exhibition of the Viking's seafaring past, with the world's longest Viking long ship on display.

Copenhagen: the gastronomy capital of Scandinavia

Copenhagen has become something of a global food Mecca over the last few years and the new 2013 Michelin guide bestowed a total of 15 Michelin stars on 13 restaurants in the Danish capital - more than any other Scandinavian city.

Restaurant noma, the pioneer of ‘new Nordic cuisine’, has retained its two stars.

Kadeau became the newest restaurant in Copenhagen to receive a Michelin star, while Geranium received its second.

Food festival, Copenhagen Cooking (23rd August - 1st September) promises something for everyone, from new Nordic cuisine and gourmet restaurants at low prices, to food markets and countless other events across the city.
